3 | NVIDIA's $32 Billion Bet on Corning Fiber, Ending the Copper Era in AI Data Centers

NVIDIA has invested $5 billion in Corning and gained additional investment rights up to $32 billion. In return, Corning will build three new fiber optic factories in North Carolina and Texas, creating 3,000 jobs and increasing US fiber optic manufacturing capacity tenfold. The goal is to replace copper cable connections inside AI racks with optical fiber, i.e., co-packaged optics solutions.

Photon transmission consumes 5 to 20 times less power than electronics, which becomes a hard constraint as GPU cluster scale heads towards millions of cards. On the same day, Hut 8 signed a nearly $10 billion AI data center lease in Texas. The compute power race has spread from the chips themselves to the physical medium connecting the chips, with fiber optics becoming the next supply chain bottleneck. Corning's stock price rose nearly 18% in a single day.

4 | Crypto Regulation Speeds Up, White House Aims for July 4th Passage of Clarity Act, Wall Street Enters the Game

White House Digital Asset Advisor Vite stated that the government aims to push the House of Representatives to pass the Clarity Act (Digital Asset Market Clarity Act) by July 4th, with the Senate Banking Committee marking it this month for full House submission in June. However, Senator Gilibrand signaled resistance, citing a lack of ethics provisions addressing officials' conflicts of interest in the crypto industry, stating, "No one will vote in favor." This provision directly targets Trump's memecoin and World Liberty interests.

The market is no longer waiting for legislation to be enacted. E*Trade under Morgan Stanley has launched a pilot for crypto trading with fees lower than JPMorgan, and it will be open to all customers by the end of the year.
